Since 1992, the rental of musical props, musical accessories & objects for photo, film & TV productions has been one of our specialties. We are your reliable partner when it comes to professional musical equipment and instruments. Our rental stock in Berlin / Germany offers you hundreds of musical props, also from different eras. We pay particular attention to historical authenticity and attention to detail. The props used must be appropriate, emotional and believable. We are also happy to advise you on this.

Our musical props in use

Several hundred feature films, documentaries, TV shows and photo productions have been equipped with instruments from our musical collection over the last 30 years. Our instruments and musical props have been used with great success in many well-known films such as “Babylon Berlin”, the entire “Kudamm” series on ZDF, the film “Hilde” about the life of Hildegard Knef, the film “Der Mann mit dem Fagott” about the life of Udo Jürgens, or in numerous well-known TV productions by ARD and ZDF, many TV shows and also in documentaries by ARTE, 3SAT and others.

Special musical rarities and musical objects

As a highlight among our musical props, you can hire a historic black piano from the Wilhelminian era around 1900. If you wish, you can also hire it with beautiful brass candlesticks with a slightly dusty patina. You can choose the candlesticks from a range of original golden candlesticks.

This unique piano no longer has an interior. As a dummy piano, it is silent and mute, but all the original keys work. This makes it ideal for playback in film and TV.

Because of the lower weight compared to a normal piano, position changes are easier on the set.

Putting a grand piano on a skyscraper roof for a film shoot? No problem for us!

We have often rented this beautiful BÖSENDORFER concert grand piano for the production of music videos and feature films and placed it on high-rise roofs up to 80 meters high using a heavy-duty crane. No matter what time of year – ready to play, ready to shoot. It is an original historical concert grand piano, can be played silently and is therefore perfect as a decorative grand piano or dummy grand piano. You are also welcome to rent other grand pianos from us which are specifically suitable for decorative purposes or as props.

Drum kits as props

In our rental we offer a large number of drums from various manufacturers and in many colors. Special drums are also available for rent, such as the copy of the original LUDWIG drum kit from Ringo Starr / Beatles in the color black oyster pearl shown here in the photo.

You can also hire special vintage drums from the 1920s – 1980s from us. When it comes to these drum sets, we take great care to ensure that they not only look authentic, but also look as new as possible. After all, your story takes place in a set temporal context. An original but visually age-appropriate drum kit with some signs of wear, patina and yellowed chrome parts would be out of place here.

Guitars in many colors, variants and styles

What would an instrumental prop rental be without an impressive selection of guitars of all kinds. From a rare “Flying V” guitar with impressively shimmering Swarovski stones like the one in the photo, to the legendary Beatles bass from HOEFNER – we have them all in stock.

Do you need a guitar in bright yellow or an electric bass with a camouflage look? No problem for us. Upon request, we change the look of guitars according to your ideas, just for your production in our in-house workshop.

Harp rental for photo, film & TV productions

Our many years of experience have shown that concert harps for photo, film and TV productions are extremely difficult to obtain. These instruments are very expensive and valuable, so they are almost never rented out. We have remedied this and are offering both a beautiful, high-gloss black lacquered concert harp from the Italian manufacturer SALVI / model Diana, as well as a smaller hook harp / lever harp by CAMAC from France / model Melusine for rent as musical props. Both instruments are in perfectly maintained condition and can of course be played without restrictions.

If you wish, you can also get a professional harpist as a harp coach through our partner company STAGE PROFI so that your protagonists can receive expert instruction in playing the harp. We would be happy to provide you with further information on this.

How do you play a musical instrument for playback?

Surely you know the embarrassing scene: An actor plays the piano, you only see his head bent towards the keys behind the instrument and hear the piano playing (as playback). But neither his hands nor he himself can be seen playing the piano in the long shot. This makes it clear to every viewer that the performer cannot play the piano. It is a pre-produced recording / full playback. For this exactly we offer the solution: use our expert playback service for film, photo and TV shows.
